The river Arån rises in the western part of the Oviksfjäll and runs to the river Ljungan. In the course of time, he has built up a valley which is characterized by an exuberant montane flora. In the northern part, the valley was called Arådalen. In the surroundings of the Arån, there are multiple botanical habitats – from the treeless mountain tundra (kalfjäll) to species-rich swamplands. |
